Richard co-founded Lloyd Wilson Partnership in 2011, with Rhian Lloyd-Thomas, bringing his experience of almost 20 years working as an Architect, primarily in the education sector, in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
He has built upon this experience in his role at LWP and has been involved in the design and progression of circa 60 schools, including Academies and free schools, (primary, secondary and all-through), UTCs, 6th form centres and, special schools (including co-located mainstream and special schools).
Richard finds it intensely rewarding to work closely with a client, getting under the skin of the brief to understand their values and vision, and to work with the design team to create and deliver a solution that surpasses expectations.
Richard is passionate about providing high quality learning environments that support curriculum delivery. He is able to challenge the design team, often bringing innovative solutions to the table to ensure that the best possible environments are provided for teachers and learners.
